Assessment Guide G10 Linear Functions

The learning standards assessed are listed in the first table. Resources for ongoing learning and assessment (how to upgrade) are detailed in the second table.

How to upgrade

All grades are formative until a date set a few weeks prior to the end of the course.

The learning standards are drawn from the BC curriculum for grade 10FMP.

Continued learning is encouraged and can be pursued using the resources detailed in the second table.

# Type Learning Standard Description Proficiency
i Slope Learn draw and recognise slope of line segments on a grid. Use the slope formula. Emg, Dev, Prf
ii y=mx+b Calculate y=mx+b from a graph showing at least two points. Use any technique. Emg, Dev, Prf
iii y-y_1=m(x-x_1) Use the slope point formula to calculate the equation of a line and rearrange to y=mx+b. Emg, Dev, Prf
iv Interpret and Analyse Calculate x and y intercepts, slope, rearrange from/to standard form ax+by=c where a, b, c \in \mathbb{Z}. Emg, Dev, Prf
v Pattern Calculate the equation of several linear functions drawn on the same graph. Demonstrate a variety of techniques. Emg, Dev, Prf, Ext
vi Graphing Classwork pages on graphing Emg, Dev, Prf, Ext
vii Classwork Demonstrate the process of learning Emg, Dev, Prf, Ext

To continue learning at your own pace after the conclusion of a unit, refer to the webpages and/or your classwork booklet.
