Grade 10 Unit 1 Project Example. This example shows one way to organise your work. In the example, we use squares rather than counters, therefore the variables examined in the example project include side length; area and perimeter.
Variables to examine in the student projects should include numbers of yellow counters; red counters and total counters.
Choose one pattern. Decide how the pattern continues – there may be more than one approach. Draw the first five shapes on paper with red and yellow pencils (or any other two colours). Predict how many total, how many red, how many yellow counters will be in your 10th shape! Generalise to the shape.
Finally, create and investigate your own connect-4 counter pattern.
